Dr. William Samson is a plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He has a particular interest in breast reconstruction and offers all of the most sophisticated techniques available. Dr. Samson is board certified, in both General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and he has special expertise in Microsurgery. Dr. Samson is the Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital. He also holds a staff position at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where he is Director of the Plastic Surgery Clinic. Dr. Samson serves as Coordinator of the Continuum Health Partners Combined Divisions of Plastic Surgery Academic Program and he is actively involved in training plastic surgery residents. Dr. Samson is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Columbia University and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has presented and published on several topics including microvascular reconstructive surgery and breast reconstruction. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Samson received his B.S. from Tufts University and his M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed five years of General Surgery Residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell University. Dr. Samson then competed three years of Plastic Surgery training at Emory University and at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He went on to complete a one year fellowship in Cancer Reconstructive Surgery and Microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
